How do I make the text bigger on my computer screen?
On Windows 11, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Text size, and drag the slider to the right. To make everything larger, not just words, go to Settings, then System, then Display, and pick a higher Scale. In most browsers, Ctrl and the plus key zooms in on the page.
Scale is a percentage, like 125% or 150%, that enlarges the whole picture, including icons, menus and windows. It's usually the best first step. Text size changes only the words, which can be a nice extra step after that. Try one change at a time until reading feels comfortable.
On a Mac, open the Apple menu, then System Settings, then Accessibility, then Display, and use Text size under Text. In a web browser on either system, zoom in with Ctrl and plus, or Command and plus on a Mac, and go back with Ctrl or Command and zero.
- Open Settings, then System, then Display, and raise Scale
- For bigger words only, go to Accessibility, then Text size, and select Apply
- In a browser, press Ctrl and plus to zoom in, Ctrl and zero to reset
- On a Mac, use System Settings, then Accessibility, then Display, then Text size
