Privacy Policy
Last updated October 13, 2026
This policy explains what MobDojo collects when you use mobdojo.com, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and specific.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and name. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service); we never see or store them.
- Learning progress. Which modules you finish, when, the days you were active, and the answers you submit. Answers are checked on our servers to award points fairly.
- Public profile. If you choose a username, your username, points, belt, badges, day streak and join month are shown on your public profile page and on the leaderboard.
- Certificates. When you finish a track, we issue a certificate with the name you enter, the track, the date and a certificate ID. Anyone with the certificate link can see it, so employers can verify it.
- Problem reports. If you report a problem with a lesson, we store your report, which lesson it was about, your browser type, and your account ID if you're signed in.
- Analytics, only if you allow it. If you click Allow on the analytics banner, Google Analytics for Firebase collects usage data such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location based on your IP address. If you click No thanks, analytics stays off.
- Data on your device. MobDojo stores your progress and settings in your browser's local storage so the site works without an account.
How we use it
- To run MobDojo: save your progress, show your profile and the leaderboard, and issue certificates.
- To keep scores fair, by checking answers on our servers.
- To fix mistakes and improve lessons, using problem reports and, if you allow it, analytics.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Google (Firebase). MobDojo runs on Firebase, which hosts the site and stores account and progress data. Google processes this data on our behalf. Data may be stored on servers in the United States.
- Payment processor. When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by a payment processor such as Stripe. We won't see or store your full card number.
- Everyone, for public information. Your username, profile, leaderboard entry and certificates are public by design.
- When required by law. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account, progress, username, profile and certificates. Problem reports you filed are kept but no longer linked to you. Backups and logs held by our providers may take a short time to clear.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time: open your account menu (your initials in the top bar) and choose Delete account.
- Change your username or certificate name from your profile and certificate pages.
- Analytics: clearing your browser's site data brings the banner back so you can choose again.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@mobdojo.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and we'll honor them.
Children
MobDojo is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, and access to stored data is restricted by security rules so people can only see what's meant to be public. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
