Help Maya get ready for a job interview over video.

The night before

Maya is 19. Tomorrow at 10 AM she has her first job interview, at a bookshop. It is over video. The manager emailed her a join link.

Tonight, Maya wants to practice, so nothing surprises her. She opens the link and gets to the preview screen. But her camera picture is black. Her microphone works fine.

Then she remembers. Last month she turned some switches off in Settings while tidying up. Maybe she turned off the camera for the wrong app.

Help her get ready, one step at a time.

Joining on time

It is 9:55 the next morning. Maya clicks the link. On the preview screen, her face is well lit. Behind her is a pile of laundry, so she turns on background blur.

Her little brother is playing a loud game in the next room. Maya doesn't want that noise to be the first thing the manager hears.

Showing her resume

The interview goes well. The manager asks Maya to show her resume on the screen. Her resume is the page that lists her school and work experience.

Maya has her email and her bank open in other browser tabs. A friend also keeps texting her, and the messages pop up on her computer.

Wrapping up

The manager says thank you and smiles. Maya clicks Stop sharing, says goodbye and clicks Leave. Her new wireless headphones worked well too. She paired them last night in Bluetooth & devices.

A minute later, she notices the light next to her camera is still on.
